Dec. Leaders Meeting Minutes:
Pack 481 – Leader Meeting Minutes
December 1, 2004

Cubmaster Paul Johnson called the December den leader meeting to order at 7:05.  Paul Johnson, Gavan Goodrich, David Leach, Sue Sternhagen, Randy DeWeese, and Tammy Korns attended.

Den/Leader Information:
Ø Popcorn sales are much less than previous years.  Carrie Pergantis is still trying to collect all the money in time for the first commission date of December 4th.  Paul needs information about which den sold the most to determine which den won the party.  Den leaders should email their den totals to Tammy Korns.

Pack Meetings/Attendance:
Ø Attendance for the December craft fair is expected to be 50 scouts.

Activities:
Ø Lynn Laymance is busy planning the craft fair.  Sue will bring coffee, lemonade, and paper products.  Tammy will bring 60 cookies to be decorated.  Lynn will make the salt dough ornaments.  Paul J. will bring Christmas music.  Jeff will collect money at the door and stamp hands as kids come in.  Tables will be numbered, and Paul will count off to determine which kids go to what table.  Activities are as follows:
o decorate a card to send to troops in Iraq
o make felt mice candy cane holders
o decorate/paint an ornament made of model magic or salt dough
o decorate oranges with cloves
o cookie table
Ø Pinewood Derby – 76 people bought pinewood derby car kits.  Miller gym has been reserved, but will be too costly at around $500 for the day.  Sue will check again with Murphy City Hall about having it there.  David needs a few people to have workshops prior to the derby. He has rules for both scouts and masters (masters and siblings will have all rules except no weight limit).  Gavan will provide a projector for results.  The schedule will be registration from 10:00 to 11:30, judging from 11:30 to 12:00, and racing from 12:00 to 2:00.  Trophies will be awarded for the fastest three scouts in five divisions, and for the most authentic, coolest, and scout designed in each division.  Tammy will order trophies from Blue Ribbon or Crown Trophy.
Ø Scouting for Food – It was decided that the scouts would go out only on the pick-up day (February 12th) and ask for food, rather than dropping off the bags the week before and going back to pick them up.
Ø Blue and Gold Banquet will be Saturday, February 26th, and Liz Blizzard is coordinating this event.
Ø Paul J. will be leading a caroling outing on December 14th from 6 to 8 pm.  Meet at Murphy City Hall, and wear Class A uniforms.

Council/District Information:
Ø The Great Plains Tenth Annual Recognition Dinner is Friday, January 14th at Prestonwood Baptist Church.
Ø Great Plains District Day Camp will be June 13-17, 2005, with day camp from 8:30 to 1:00, and evening camp from 4:00 to 8:30.  Early registration deadline is March 26th and late registration is April 23rd.  A coordinator is needed in time to attend the coordinators meeting at the February roundtable.
